Bright colours to dominate cooking spaces in 2015

The future of kitchen décor is set to get a lot brighter, if the appliances at the annual International Home and Housewares Show are anything to go by.

All of the latest culinary trends were covered at the show, which was recently held in Chicago, and it was clear that brighter colours and bold palettes are set to be huge this year.

According to Lisa Casey-Weiss, who is a lifestyle consultant for the International Housewares Association, homeowners are much more willing to take risks when the economy improves. She added that this is probably why colours like pink and orange are making their presence known in the kitchen now.

As well as bold shades, products and appliances that aim to make life simpler and healthier are also set to be big trends. There was a large range of innovative kitchen products, which were both stylish and multifunctional, on show at the event, including the Bellini Intelli Kitchen Master. Despite being small enough to fit on a kitchen worktop, this item can do the job of eight separate appliances.

Another emerging style represented at the event was the desire for locally sourced artisanal foods, with futuristic products like molecular gastronomy kits and devices to easily roll sushi proving particularly popular.

A trend for 1950s-inspired designs also came up, which can easily be incorporated into any custom kitchen design in Cheshire by including retro products, such as Smeg fridges and appliances from companies like Nostalgic Electrics, which offers mid-century designs.
