High street dining is the latest celebrity trend

They might have their pick of the finest kitchens that Cheshire, London and LA have to offer, but a number of celebrities are shunning fine dining in favour of eating out at high street restaurants.

A number of high-profile celebs have been spotted at budget eateries in recent months, setting the trend for other famous faces to follow suit. For instance, Simon Cowell was seen dining at a branch of Harvester in Braintree, Essex. He was accompanied by X factor hopeful Stevi Ritchie, who has just been voted off the TV singing competition.

More surprisingly, this trend for low-cost dining has also reached Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt, who was spotted chowing down on a Wimpy meal costing just £6, also in the Essex area.

It was also recently reported by The Daily Mail that Posh and Becks may be spending Christmas in an east London branch of Wetherspoons.

The well-to-do couple have been invited to The Half Moon in Stepney by David Beckham’s sister and her partner. The pub offers a low-cost Christmas lunch, and for just a few pounds more the couple could add a starter of chicken liver and bacon pate or blue cheese soup to their meal.

The Beckhams are reported to be taking the children along with them for the low-key celebration, however, the staff at the Stepney branch of Wetherspoons have not had any confirmation that the posh couple will be turning up at all, despite David’s family confirming that they are invited.
